Color contact lenses - are eye accessories that are becoming more and more popular among lovers of emphasizing their individuality, preserving their health, without irreversible consequences. They are created to intensify or change the color of the eyes. As well as clear contact lenses and eyeglasses, color contact lens can also have the function of vision correction.

There are several types of colored contact lens. Next we will examine each parameter separately.

1. By optic power:

       –  Cosmetic lenses - they are marked on the box with zero "0.00", they are worn only for cosmetic purposes to change the natural color of the eyes.

      – Lenses for myopia - marked on the box with the minus sign "-", these lenses have the effect of glasses and correct vision in distance.

      –  Lenses for longsightedness  - it is marked on the box with the plus sign "+", these lenses have the effect of glasses and correct the vision of those who cannot see small details nearby and have  problems in writing or reading.

     – Toric lenses – for the correction of astigmatism - changes in the curvature of the cornea and/or the eye lens, causing the loss of image clarity, both at a distance and near.

     – Multifocal lenses – designed to correct presbyopia, a symptom that appears at most people after the age of forty.

2. By opacity:

    – Tinted (which combines with the natural eyes color and offer only a shade without radical changes, such lenses cover only bright eyes).

   – Slightly pigmented (such lenses have a little pigment and unessentially change the eyes color, they are suitable for those who do not want radical changes).

    – Pigmented (they are perfect for people with bright and dark eyes and can radically change eyes color).

    – Opaque (this range includes dramatic and crazy contact lenses), radically change the color of the eyes.

3. By the presence of the limbal ring:

     – Without limbal ring (such lenses only change the color of the eyes without additionaly emphasising).

     – With retouched limbal ring (gives a medium eye emphasis).

     – With accentuated limbal ring (for emphasising and visually enlarging the eyes).

4. By the size of the pupil area:

A little information and terminology: the visual part of the eye consists of:

pupil (the black part in the center of the eye)

            – iris (the colored part of the eye)

            – sclera (the white part of the eye)

Color contact lenses are colored in the iris area and clear in the center. There are lenses with a narrow, medium and wide pupil area. The pupil of the human eye has the property of shrinking in light and dilating in the darkness.

Thereby while wearing lens with large pupil area you will have a perfect vision in the light and in the dark. But in the light, when the pupil is reduced, natural color will be visible around the pupil.

Wearing medium pupil area lenses the color of the iris is practically not visible at all, such lenses look most realistic on the eyes. But in the dark, the image may appear a little blurry at the beginning until you get used to it.

Lenses with narrow pupil area have a more dramatic effect covering the entire iris. Often these type of lenses are used for video and photo shoots. These lenses must be worn in the presence of sufficient light, otherwise the image might be foggy on the peripheries.

What are the advantages of contact lenses?

Provides an aesthetic comfort

Contact lenses do not change the physiognomy of the face, nor do they create a state of discomfort by wearing them. If the wearer has high degree diopters, then the glasses will have thick lenses and will be heavy. In this case, the physical appearance may suffer. Contact lenses are the only aesthetic solution because they are discreet and easy to wear.

Make up without problems

Make-up will be easier to apply and will stand out much better. You will have the opportunity to create a correct make-up, with straight lines, harmoniously combining colors. Very good vision, supported by wearing contact lenses, can give you the self-confidence, so necessary to succeed in everything you set on your mind . Moreover, you can opt for colored contact lenses with diopters that provide the same visual clarity as regular prescription lenses.

Eliminate small daily discomforts

Contact lenses don't fog up or limit your field of vision, even if it's raining or snowing outside. They are lightweight and save you from the heaviness of eyeglass frames, which sometimes slip or need to be adjusted.

Lenses allow the wearing of sunglasses. The eyes, like the skin, must be protected from the sun. Since we can't wear sunglasses over our eyeglasses, but we also don't accept to see the world in "fog", then contact lenses are the only effective solution.

Provides a full field of vision

Unlike eyeglasses, which impose a physical barrier, contact lenses offer a full field of vision. The wearer sees normally again, as if there was no vision disorder.

If the diopters of the eyes differ considerably, then contact lenses are the ideal solution to avoid wearing glasses with different thickness.

The full field of vision also provides safety as the wearer can now see at any angle. He no longer has to turn his neck every time, which is important for drivers or those who operate industrial machinery. When you go out to see a 3D movie, you will be able to watch it with special glasses without any problems.

You can also practice any kind of sport: skiing, figure skating, modern dance, fencing, karate, athletics, ballet, gymnastics, football, basketball etc.

It gives more freedom with what you wear

Glasses should always match the outfit, and for that you should have a collection of at least three pairs of glasses to match several types of outfits, which can get expensive. Even more if you forget your glasses in an unsafe place, you risk to sit on them or find them broken in the hands of children. The lenses will give you the freedom to be as creative as you want with your outfits, without additional investment. You can also combine colored lenses according to the color of your clothes.
